Tyler Goodjohn: Pioneer
When bare knuckle boxing was reemerging for the first time since 1889, Tyler Goodjohn was at the forefront. Positioned as the best fighter in BKB, the 33-year-old is returning to the promotion after five years in another promotion. That has Goodjohn amped and ready to prove himself the most entertainment in the world.
“I’m very excited to return to bare knuckle. It’s been a sport I’ve pioneered for a few years, and now I’ve become a fan favourite with my style. You know it’s going to be a fight of the night when ‘El Tornado’ is on the card, so I’m looking forward to cementing that legacy.”
The return to BKB was based in Goodjohn’s style. All action, all the time, Goodjohn loves the longer rounds and is ready to fight in the Trigon for the first time.
“I wanted to return to BKB. It always suited my style of fighting. I am the former World Champion for them and now with the exciting Trigon ring and longer minute rounds, it definitely was time to make my return.”
The Trigon Debut
BYB Extreme buying the UK-based BKB and branding simply to “Bare Knuckle Boxing” is giving Tyler Goodjohn an opportunity to fight in the famed Trigon for the first time. Harkening back to his fighting style, Goodjohn believes that the makeup of the Trigon will lend into that sort of violence.
“I’m very excited to fight in the Trigon. I’ve always suited the smaller ring dimensions and the 3 minute rounds. I was an English professional boxing champion. I was used to the longer rounds. This allows me more time to pick my shots & break my opponents down. This definitely suits my style of fighting.”
With BYB and BKB’s merger, Goodjohn is incredibly bullish about the new super-promotion. With new faces, the UK native sees great opportunity.
“It’s great to see the merger and have chance to face the best opponents from over seas and also go to their backyard to do it.”
Tuning in is a no brainer. Tyler Goodjohn is must-see TV. Going into BKB 40, he promises the thing he does best: violence.
“My fans know what they can expect to see from me at BKB 40: beautiful brutality. I’m back to regain my crown as the most entertaining fighter on the planet.”
